Almuth Lentz

Allmuth Lenz operates in the intersection of photography and painting with her artistic work. She combines both forms of expression by using the camera as a painterly tool to approach her inner images of atmospheric landscapes. In doing so, she discovered the pinhole camera, also known as the Camera Obscura, as a consciously chosen medium with its own poetic visual language. This oldest form of photography works solely with light entering through a small opening. Through handheld shots and long exposure times, Allmuth Lenz intentionally creates blurriness, which gives the images a unique depth and atmosphere.

Biography

Almuth Lentz

Allmuth Lenz is a photographic artist. In her lyrical photographic works, she deliberately employs techniques with an unpredictable element: Camera Obscura images, with their soft contours and gentle light effects, almost appear painterly. In another self-developed method, she treats analog photographs in a handmade solution. Her visual worlds revolve around movement, weather, being on the move, and a quiet, atmospheric perception.
