PHOTOGRAPHER

Allmuth Lenz

Allmuth Lenz moves between photography and painting in her work. She is looking for a combination of both, playing with the possibilities of painting with the camera in order to approach her inner images of atmospheric landscapes.

This is how she discovered the possibilities of the pinhole camera, also called camera obscura, with its own charm of blurriness. The pinhole camera is the oldest form of photography. The image is created exclusively by the incidence of light through a small hole onto a light-sensitive medium. Allmuth Lenz creates the deliberate blurriness of the photographs by shooting freehand without a tripod and using very long exposure times.
